Shan Sinha, Canopy’s CEO, sat down with David Leichner, CMO at Cybellum, last month to discuss the company’s wearable safety technology.
Canopy currently offers two solutions. Canopy Protect safeguards those who work on hospital campuses. Canopy Go protects those who work in home health. In both solutions, each employee receives a Canopy button with their personal identifying information that affixes to their ID badge.
If individuals feel threatened, they can press their buttons to alert either nearby colleagues and security dispatchers, if they are working in the hospital setting, or local law enforcement, if they are home health workers. Home health workers can also set appointments. Once they check into these appointments, an automatic alert will be sent if they do not check out of the appointments.
As the company continues to expand, Sinha’s focus has remained clear.
“When you’re building a company, you encounter a lot of noise and differing perspectives,” Sinha said. “It’s critical to focus on what truly matters. It’s easy to get sidetracked, but staying focused on the core issue and figuring out the next actionable step is key to making meaningful progress and solving problems.”
